Senneh is the old name of the modern city of Sanandaj. The rugs that come from the city and from nomads or farmers in the surrounding region are known as Senneh kilims. These double-sided kilims feature the typical slit weave technique. They are decorated with small-scale patterns such as rose bouquets and rows of tree or floral motifs. Traditional Mahi motifs may also appear, as well as a large central field, often with a rhombus in varying colors.
